Three Day Weekend… Whee!

When I was a kid and we got spring break at school, it was always arranged around the Easter holiday.  Have they changed it to be more sensitive to people of religions outside of Chrisianity?  Anyway, glad to hear school is out tomorrow for Rutherford County.  Maybe I’ll be able to sleep past 6:00 a.m.! What are your plans for this weekend?  Celebrating Easter?  Celebrating warm weather?  Bracing for Saturday’s expected thunderstorms? Are there any community Easter egg hunts?  I know the city’s was last weekend, but how about neighborhood or church egg hunts?   One of the worst smells in…

Rest in Peace, Mr. Covert

March 31, 2010

No one should have to listen to or be subjected to any kind of discrimination regarding race, color, sex, religion, disability, marital status, family status, sexual orientation, age, ancestry, or national origin.  These are the rules we must abide by…

Important Public Hearing on City’s Overlay Districts

March 25, 2010
By

I received this notice from the city planner recently and feel it’s VERY IMPORTANT for citizens to attend this public hearing.  Scheduled on Tuesday, April 6th at 6:30 p.m., the hearing will be at City Hall located at 5093 Murfreesboro Road in LaVergne. City Planner Grant Green said, Single family homes and anything that has already been approved are not included – they will still have the current requirements. These districts are up for 2nd and final reading on April 6th. The first reading passed unanimously. This is something we really want the public and property owners to be aware…
