While we always watch out for children playing, it would be nice if children are taught that the road is just that a road. If you see a car coming you should stop playing and get to the side of the road! In my neighborhood the parents also need to be taught this lesson .

I hope I am one of the 279 or maybe I am #280. On march the 16th My wife and I were driving on Old Nashville Hwy. We saw some one getting a bag of trash out of the street. It was a traffic hazard. The people doing this was the Mayor and her husband. The city that I lived in previously it would have to be a great photo opp. for this to happen. Thanks Mayor Mosley and thanks for telling the truth about the financial shape of the city, when it would of been easier just to tell people what they want to hear. You have been unfairly criticized when you told the truth about the need of this city.

City provided trash service is a bad idea. We have a dozen or so private companies currently providing this service because of competition. If my trash service provider slips, I get to fire them and hire someone else. Not with city service though. Nope, still gotta pay the fee if you don’t like the service or don’t even want it.

This is essentially just another tax hike. The City of LaVergne should be doing ONLY what they should and no more. Growing government into doing all these other services is more waste and removes market-driven competition.

Thank you for your recognition and support. I do look forward to the challenges of this position, however I must give credit to those that deserve it – the city employees. The operation of this city is a team effort and we have wonderful employees that are out and about doing all of the hard work that is necessary. The employees are the ones fixing water or sewer lines, working on our streets, fixing our ditches and keeping our streets and neighborhoods safe from criminals. We have a great group of department heads that are operating their departments in a professional manner and making sure that things are done properly. I couldn’t and wouldn’t be successful without them and I appreciate everything that the employees and department heads do!

We still have a lot of work ahead of us, but I know that with their help and dedication, La Vergne will be a better place to live, work and play!
