The temperatures are going up – just in time for La Vergne’s 4th of July celebration. Hundreds of friends, neighbors, and guests will gather for lots of children’s activities, live music, great food, and (finally) a spectacular fireworks show at dark! Gates open at 5:30 p.m., but the event will be in full swings at 6:00 p.m. Things are mostly free, but expect to pay for food and drinks. … OR bring your own picnic!
Did you know that the city didn’t formally celebrate Independence Day with its huge fireworks show until 2011? Previously the fireworks were set off at the end of “Old Timers Day” until we created the new event. (One of the many wonderful initiatives implemented from 2011-2016!).
I read somewhere that a person asked how LaVergne’s show is compared to our neighbor Smyrna’s show. Ours if FABULOUS! I hope people who have seen both will comment – good bad or ugly! Do you like the La Vergne 4th of July show? How can our Parks & Recreation Department make it even better? Remember… let your voices be heard! We love fresh ideas!!
