This is officially the first day of the 2017 NaBloPoMo. Crazy name, right? It’s the acronym for “National Blog Posting Month” which is a takeaway from the NaNoWriMo – or “National Novel Writing Month.” In our case, I hope to write a post every day for a month. I don’t know if I’ll be able to do this or not because of other life obligations, but I’m going to give it the old college try. (The reference to “college” is a reference for tomorrow’s post as I spend today fact-gathering… anticipation!) (Oops… updated to add that a little more research is necessary so the “college” article will have to wait until verification done!)
I’m reaching out today to ask if any of our readers are interested in chatting for either “We Are LaVergne” (a column I’ve written for seven years) OR if you’re interested in telling your story about domestic violence. Please know that when I talk to people and they share something with me that they don’t want written, I completely respect their request.
Also, what do you want to know more about LaVergne but didn’t know who to ask or were afraid to ask? You can email questions to me at kathy (dot) tyson129 (at) gmail (dot) com. Bring it! I’ll try to get the scoop for you without you having to ask people you may not want to talk to. #fearless
I’m open for your suggestions and questions! For example:
- What’s the actual purpose of the Parks & Rec Advisory Committee
- What alderman threatened to cut important funding in a little hissy fit when he didn’t get his way
- What’s the threshold of work hours for employees to be offered benefits
- Why does the city need all those new positions it’s created
- Why should people run for office
See? Lots of questions that can be asked! The doctor* is in.
*Disclaimer: I am not an actual doctor. ;o)
