Hobby Lobby? TJ Maxx? BRING IT!!!

We at This is La Vergne were overjoyed to see the post on the city web page today about The Shoppes at StoneCrest coming to our great city! This shopping area will be located just across the city limit line and into LaVergne behind Target. The shopping center will be located at the rock quarry looking place and promises to be a huge boost for our city residents!  Here’s a snippet,

“In addition to the interstate frontage on I-24 and the Sam Ridley Parkway shopping corridor, the progress of La Vergne in the last four years has made this a very attractive property for us,” said Browning. “The retail industry appreciates it when a municipality focuses its efforts on providing necessary infrastructure, adequate fire and police protection, and also provides programs for the community where they can find many qualified employees. Mayor Mosley and her economic development team have done a remarkable job.”

Browning Development estimates approximately 200 new jobs for local citizens will be created and the project will generate approximately $2.4 million dollars in sales tax revenue annually.

This is a HUGE progress for La Vergne and we want to personally thank Browning Development Solutions for having the confidence in our city to come here with T.J. Maxx, (hopefully) Hobby Lobby, and other wonderful retail stores.  We also want to extend our congratulations Mayor Senna Mosley, Alderman Tom Broeker, Alderman Sherry Green (who worked with economic development for years), and the entire economic development team and committee for never giving up on us!

Here’s the news as reported by the Daily News Journal.

We commend everyone involved who is making this positive growth happen. Where are we now? Walmart is confirmed. We have a new, beautiful shopping center confirmed. And where Walmart goes, there will be additional stores and restaurants.

THIS is progress. THIS is the direction we need to keep going. THIS is the image we want for our city! Congratulations to all our city officials and committee members who worked hard to make this happen! We are incredibly proud of you!  And WELCOME TO THE SHOPPES AT STONECREST!  Welcome home.
