Educators and Easter Eggs

Easter EggsWe are proud to congratulate two La Vergne teachers for being named Rutherford County Teachers of the Year.  Shannon Holland at La Vergne Primary School and Sharron Hofer at La Vergne Middle School were chosen by the school district as the grade level winners.  (Kelly Wester of Smyrna High School is the winner for the high school category.)  These wonderful teachers will be honored with the Teachers of the Year from each county school at a reception later this month.  The three grade level honorees will go on to represent our school system in the regional and state recognition program.  The Tennessee Teacher of the Year will be announced in the fall.  Kudos to all of our dedicated teachers, administrators and school personnel, we know you work hard and we want to thank you!!!

I have heard a rumor that thousands of Easter Eggs are missing in La Vergne.  Children are being asked to join together on Saturday at Veterans Memorial Park where games and crafts will begin at 9 am with the hunt for the missing eggs to start at 10 am.  The Easter Bunny will be there to egg the kids on (come on, that was funny!)  Children will hunt for eggs in groups based on their age.  The divisions are: Newborn to 4 years, 5 to 7 years and 8 to 11 years.  There are three Golden Eggs to be found, one for each age group.  These eggs can be traded for a special prize after the hunt.  Please come out and join us for this fun, family friendly eggstravaganza (see what I did there! LOL)

Tell us what you are doing this weekend, or about your favorite Easter dinner dish.  I am looking for new ideas for holiday meals!
