It is with great pleasure that I introduce you to Theresa Hesse, the newest writer/editor of This is LaVergne. Theresa has been a resident of our fair city for nearly 16 years, so has seen it grow and change for nearly two decades. When she moved here, there was but one traffic light. There was a grocery store where CVS is now located along with Food Lion, and TeeGees was the only restaurant.
Theresa is the mother of two precious kids: Robert (5th grade) and Robin (kindergarten). Robin is currently the “Little Miss People’s Choice” of LaVergne and currently up for vote in LaVergne Loves as “Favorite Celebrity.” (Mentioning that here may give Robin an edge, but that’s okay since she’s only 5 years old. Sweet Robin turns 6 on February 13 and is very proud of that!).
Meanwhile Theresa is a Box 100 volunteer and loves to attend city activities (Trail of Treats, Old Timers Festival, parades, egg hunts, etc.). If you ever want to talk with Theresa, you can easily find her at city functions. Theresa has been a guest author on many online sites and has written children’s stories. In fact when she was in the 5th grade, one of her stories was “published” as a book (Bugsy Beetle Saves the Day, a story about a super-hero who happened to be a beetle) by the school librarian. How awesome would that be to have your name in a card catalog at 10-years old?
Please give Theresa a warm welcome at This is LaVergne. And if you have story ideas for her, email her at theresa (dot) hesse (at) comcast (dot) net.
(Thank you Lola and Ivy for allowing me to write the introduction of my friend, Theresa.)
