Greetings and Happenings

Civil WarHi everyone, I am really excited to meet all of you.  I love to write and I am honored to have this opportunity with this captive audience.  As Lola said, if you have any ideas on topics to cover, rants or especially raves please let me know!

Don’t forgot about the upcoming FIRST EVER La Vergne Parks and Recreation Father/Daughter dance.  It is Saturday, February 9th from 2 pm-4 pm at the Multipurpose Building.  Admission is $5 and should be a lovely time for everyone.  Although we can’t make it this year, I am looking forward to this becoming an annual event.  Many thanks to the Parks and Recreation department for getting this started.

Box 100 is having their monthly meeting on Monday the 4th at 6:30 pm at Fire Station 3 on Bill Stewart Blvd.  Box 100 is a rehab volunteer group that supports our first responders, assists the city with traffic control during events, provides safe shelters during inclement weather as well as other valuable services.  This hardworking group is always in need of volunteers and the meetings are open, so join us and learn how you can help your community.

The library is always hosting fun programs for all ages, be sure to visit the city calendar page for everything fun and educational you can do.  The big event coming up is the Civil War Sesquicentennial Celebration with events from February 16-23. Our city has a rich history, stop by the city page for more information.

I will be posting more about all the fun to be had soon.  Again, thank you for letting me be a part of this great site.
