URGENT: Water Line Break Leads to Call to Conserve Water

Apparently there has been a major water line break this weekend and the water tank at Sanford Knob is running very low. The City has posted a request on the website for residents and businesses to conserve water this weekend:

“The following neighborhoods are asked to minimize their water use throughout the weekend: McFarlin Pointe, Pinnacle Point, Summit View, Walnut Ridge, Farmingdale, Dove Creek, Woodland Hills, Woodsong, and Ivy Pointe. Additionally, the south and west portions of LaVergne, including residences along Blair Road and Waldron Road, are asked to conserve water.

Please refrain from car washing, watering lawns, filling swimming pools, and other non-essential water usage while water line repairs are being made.

See the City News and Announcements link for more details. ”

I heard the city new about the break/leak for at least two weeks and did nothing about it. They only reacted because water began to pour into the street causing a hazard.

No, Jesus, that is incorrect. The tank levels and the water pressure is constantly monitored and it had not gone on for two weeks prior.
