The City of La Vergne will proudly welcome the LHS Choraliers home tonight after they competed in the renowned Heritage Festival of St. Louis. Under the direction of Gilbert Aldridge, La Vergne High School received three honors:
• Choraliers – 2nd Place – Gold A Rating 92/100

As a result of these outstanding performances, the LHS Choraliers also received an invitation to participate in the 2012 American High School Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
The city will honor the students with a police escort through town when they return this evening. Mayor Senna Mosley is urging citizens to show their support, “Come out to the high school and congratulate our students tonight! This is such a great opportunity for La Vergne. It clearly shows that we have a great educational program in our community.”
“This is a proud moment for La Vergne,” said Vice Mayor Chris Farmer. “We have known for many years that our choir is outstanding – you recognize their excellence every time they perform the National Anthem. Congratulations to this talented group of musicians!”
The red Wise Tours bus will arrive in La Vergne on Waldron Road around 7:45 p.m. and will be routed down Waldron Road, through town on Murfreesboro Road, then up Sam Ridley Parkway and to the high school. The residents of La Vergne are encouraged to arrive at the high school this evening (Sunday, April 17th) around 7:45 with congratulatory signs to welcome the singers home. The bus is expected to pull in about 8:00 p.m.
If you can’t be there, watch for the honor escort and honk your congratulations!
Please try to join the celebration!
