Don’t miss the Easter Egg hunt this Saturday at Bicentennial Park next to City Hall. Here’s the press release from the city:
Hippity Hoppity… Egg Hunt is Saturday
(La Vergne, April 12, 2011) A search is underway for thousands of missing eggs in La Vergne. The Parks and Recreation Department suspects more than 6,000 eggs will be found on Saturday, April 16th by the youth of the community who are leading the investigation.
The massive Egg Hunt is scheduled at Bicentennial Park next to La Vergne City Hall. Starting at 9:00 a.m., games are planned that include a bunny hop, bean bag toss, and a spoon-egg race, as well as crafting clothespin butterflies and guessing the number of jelly beans in a jar. At 10:00 a.m., hundreds of children will conduct a grid-patterned search to locate the colorful bunny treats filled with surprises.
“I am confident that the children in La Vergne will help us recover the missing eggs,†said Mayor Senna Mosley. “As a reward, we will give away goody baskets to the children who find three special golden prize eggs.â€
There will be three age divisions: newborn to age four; five to seven; and eight to 11 years old. The games are scheduled in the back of the park by the baseball field and the egg hunt will take place next to City Hall.
