Restaurant Review: Tee Gee’s

Kathy and I had lunch this afternoon at Tee Gee’s Restaurant. Tee Gee’s is located at 5238 Murfreesboro Road here in La Vergne, and is open M-F from 6 am to 6:45 PM and Saturdays from 6 AM until 2 PM. They’re closed Sundays. Tee Gee’s fare is basically home cooking. It is comfort food at its best. Kathy and I had the cheeseburger and home fries (tasty!) and my daughter had the catfish dinner. I know you want to see some pictures.

Mmm tasty. Tee Gee’s is simple food, cooked well. The place is not fancy- do not worry, you don’t have to dress up to go here. But they won’t look at you funny if you do come in dressed up. The service was good, it is clear the waitress has bee waitressing for awhile, as she has an easy manner and is friendly and efficient without effusiveness.

The only complaint I do have is that the bathrooms are on the outside of the building. It is a small, simple building and the parking lot is not large enough for expansion, so there is nothing they can really do about the outside bathrooms. I don’t hold that against Tee Gee’s at all, rather, I’m just letting y’all know to take care of bathroom business before you come, if possible.

Other than that, it was very good. Come on down to Tee Gee’s!

ladies, Tee Gees have catered the Thanksgiving dinner for the City of La Vergne employees in the past and had great food, especially the dressing and banana pudding…

I have been going to Tee Gee’s for yrs. And for a couple of reason, mainly cause the food is tasty and the prices are reasonable, The folks there make you feel at home. When I was the Pres. of the Lavergne Youth Basketball Leauge Donnie Carter (owner) would almost insist that he sponsor a team and I never had to worry about asking him. He use to have a complets wall of teams that he sponsored but had to take down when he spruced the place up, I would go to much much much bigger bussiness’s in Lavergne and ask for a donation to help a child and they would say no, so in my thought If you can’t help a child, I WILL NOT come to your place and I will bad mouth you every chance I get, so for that reason plus the others I will always be a customer.

steve, since you know the owner, have they thought of moving to a larger place with more seating and parking….the current place is pretty small….it might improve their business especially since we are blogging on here….just saying

I actually did asked Donnie about that one time and he said he would like to but it’s kind of a land mark in Lavergne and after seeing the pics of what it use to be and the fact that I am a trucker, I have seen and heard the stories of how at one time on hwy 41 this was an awesome place where all the truck drivers stopped to eat so I guess I understand his point and he is a resident of Lavergne, plus he feels in today’s enconomy that it would not have the same DOWN HOME type setting.
