Sticking Our Nose In It

A reader emailed some links of resolutions found on the city’s web page… they’re pretty interesting and worth looking at.  With snarky commentary (since we aren’t the news media and do joyfully editorialize).

From the “What Happened Here?” Files

Resolution to apply for grant from Recreation Trail Program for Lake Forest Park.

From the “You Gotta Problem With Me? It’s Gonna Cost You!” Files

Have an ethics concern? $200, please.

From the “Put Your Sign Wherever You Want” Files (resolution tabled)

And the sign said long haired freaky people need not apply…
Sign Sign everywhere a sign
Blocking out the scenery breaking my mind
Do this, don’t do that, can’t you read the sign

From the “Wow This is Complicated, Yet Very Clear” Files

Water ain’t  free, folks!

Has the D.A. ever been contacted?

From the “Or Just Build Wherever” Files

Did they buy the whole farm?

From the “See No Evil, Hear No Evil,  Say No Evil” Files

Where I say again and again and again… people should have the right to speak without having to give notice HOURS in advance, especially in circumstances when the agenda doesn’t come out early!

Wow, the second one and the last one seem especially ridiculous. I wonder if they have similar ordinances in other cities.

All I can say is wow. Especially about the $200 filing fee to issue an ethics complaint & the monthly meetings. Afraid to answer questions huh?

The above ordinances just prove that some current and past elected officials have used the position for personal reasons (reliefs), not read (to recall) what they signed, and that we have alot of signed paper that was never enforced. I
