Storytime at the library

Storytimes at the library will resume on Tuesday, September 7th.  We have several new and exciting storytimes planned this year, and some changes to our existing storytimes.   To view the storytime schedule, please visit the library’s online catalog page at http://catalog.lavergne.org.

Summer reading concludes

We at the La Vergne Public Library would like to thank all our participants for another fantastic summer reading program.  1,109 children and young adults participated in the summer reading program, and there were over 150 adult contest entries.  During the two-month summer program, the library checked out 23,723 items to children and teens and put on 23 events and programs during summer reading with 2,767 people attending.

At the end of the summer reading program, a free skating party was held for all children who read 100 books or more.  Over one hundred children reached this milestone, and many others reached the 200 and 300 book level.  You should all be as proud of yourselves as we are of you!
