Much Grief in LaVergne Today

It is with a very heavy heart that I write today.  First – as we’ve seen on the news – a 19-month old baby girl passed away in Lake Forest yesterday after being stuck inside a car in this heat.  The mom had just learned her father had passed away and in the confusion thought little Lisa Vorasane was upstairs asleep.  Three hours later, her lifeless body was discovered on the floorboard of the car.

The DNJ reports more details here.

Also, do you remember my friend whose house was flooded in May?  We found volunteers to help clean, hang drywall, paint, etc. – the community including Box 100 really rallied around them and the other residents of Madison Square.  Unfortunately, Jim fell and hit his head two days ago while in Birmingham attending a funeral for a friend.  As a result of the accident, the family is discontinuing care this morning.  An organ transplant team is standing by at this time so other people can live as a result of this tragedy.

Please remember both these families in your prayers this weekend as they deal with the terrible grief of these last two days.
